Bottineau Light Rail T.O.D.
City Minneapolis 2015
The Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities metropolitan region has planned and implemented several inter-city commuter rail lines that converge in Downtown Minneapolis. The Bottineau line (or Blue Line Extension) will traverse an existing county highway with a significant amount of undeveloped publicly-owned adjacent land. As an Urban Designer with the City of Minneapolis I undertook a study to analyze the development potential of the site given the existing zoning framework and adopted policy goals. This material was used to develop a transit station area plan that was formally adopted by the Twin Cities Metropolitan Council and the City of Minneapolis City Council to guide future development in and around 2 station areas of the Bottineau Light Rail Line.
